Learn how to live with care for a happier and healthier you!

START WITH SELF -CARE

It's easy to get caught with work and all your responsibilities, ignoring the signs that you need a break. However, this can lead to some serious health consequences! It's important to put yourself first once and a while and press pause.

Here are some simple ways you can reduce your stress levels:

LISTEN TO YOUR BODY

Are you a workaholic by nature and find yourself over committing to things and not leaving any time for proper rest?! Sleep deprivation can lead to obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and even early mortality, which are all things you'd definitely like to avoid! I've learned overtime that it's important to pay attention to how you feel and know when to say no.

EAT HEALTHY & STAY HYDRATED

When life gets busy, the last thing on your mind is eating a salad or drinking water. Stress is associated with bad eating habits and being dehydrated raises your cortisol (stress hormone) levels, but getting essential nutrients will give you the fuel you need to feel re-energized!

So instead of going to the nearest fast food joint or eating your feelings in ice cream, consider a healthier option and grab some fresh fruit to satisfy your sweet tooth.

P.S. Don't forget to carry a water bottle with you!

GO OUTSIDE & EXERCISE

Along with a healthy diet, getting some sun, fresh air and exercising are great ways to raise your serotonin levels and release stress and tension in your body. This doesn't mean you have to join a gym or follow some intense work out plan by any means! Simplest forms of exercising is doing yoga or just going for a walk in the park or riding a bike in your neighborhood.

MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF

When was the last time you did something for you? Take a night off and do a face mask, listen to some relaxing music, read a book or try meditating!Try to meditate at night so you can reflect and unwind after a busy day before falling asleep. Meditation can improve our creative thinking, our energy, stress levels and even our success. Close your eyes, take deep breathes and focus on positive thoughts. It may take some practice, but the benefits are worth it!
